Optima

Optima is a dedicated application designed for hotel operations. Optima is capable of receiving specially structured XML files. These XML files follow a unique format that only Optima can interpret, enabling more advanced and customized transaction processing.

This document outlines the setup and configuration of the Pelecard component in your system. It includes file structure,
parameters, pinpad settings, and pairing instructions.

• The Pelecard interface and configuration files must reside in the same directory.
• The transaction details file (XML) path is provided as a parameter to optima.exe or is persistently stored in the configuration file.
• The IP address of the pinpad is defined in the configuration file.

• Ensure network communication is functioning between the installation server and the pinpad.
• The pinpad must be assigned a static IP address.
• The pinpad must listen on port 8877.

Run the following command to open the configuration screen:
optima.exe config

In the “System Constants” configuration screen under the “Pinpad” tab, configure the following fields:

• Pinpad Address: Format as ip:port
• Connection Type: 1-Ethernet
• Pinpad Type: 101 (for Verifone)
• Terminal Number: 10-digit number
• Station Number: The first 7 digits of the terminal number

• If the pairing is successful, it should return “True”.
• If not successful, restart the pinpad device and try pairing again.
